iPadOS 16 Stage Manager_ How to Arrange_ Resize and Overlap
Apps in your ideal layout_
iPados 16 developer beta was launched yesterday. Many of iOS user were update to the newest system. And me too. There are some changes.but today i will talk about Stage Manager. this is a new window management for the ipad.
First thing first. there is something you should know.Only these iPad models can
upgrade to iPados 16.If you want to use Stage Manager. it is only available on iPad
Pro and iPad Air with the M1 chip. Including these: Then. let’s talk about stage manager. first thing that you’re going to notice is that. stage manager is actually in your control center. so this new little icon right here. is what activates stage manager. Just tap it.
Open Youtube.drag photo and move it into here. boom. there you have it. you have
two windows side by side. then drag Notes. drag Calender. and drag Safari. then you can see Youtube is moved into little shelf over here. so it means that.you can actually have up to four different windows floating windows at the same time. However. this is absolutely incredible that we finally have floating windows and they work well. and right now my Youtube video is playing in the background. It’s very convenient.
The next thing i want to show you guys is. how to arrange. resize. and overlap apps
in your ideal layout. first.you should notice that. there is a small quarter circle in the
bottom right hand corner of a window. this is where you can resize your windows.
just grab it . resize it make it a little bit smaller.
The smallest window size is an iPhone app window size. here you can notice that. it is not flexible. if you have keyboard and mouse. then you can control it well. if you want to arrange windows. just tap a little three dots in the top. but this is extremely buggy . If you move the window to the edge.it will automatically bounce back. But you can also pull the window down. The main window is automatically hidden.this is convenient.
Here you can see it’s a little bit different. it’s now in clusters.these are actually
smaller. because they are in that stagemanager view and they are floating windows versus.then let’s see what happens when we turn off stage manager.you can see the floating windows disappear. and it goes back into that Double-sided window.
Also you need to know about these hidden features.Open control center. Press
Stage manger icon.then A window will pop up. if you tap the bottom.you will see the
main window is hidden. also.tap the left bottom. the little shelf is hidden.yes. the
feature can make your layout cleaner.and here you can also tap the three dots.
If you do the plus button. it says that not avaliable yet.well . never mind.if you tap minus button.you can minus window out. that window will disappear it.actually is still over here in the stage manager. and i can drag it back.if you tap the first button. your window will get bigger.Maybe this is helpful for some people.well. stage manger also supports External display.some users say that. it works well and fluently.you can try it too.
