How to Free up Space Before iOS 16 Updating (6 Ways)

At the recent WWDC 2022, Apple officially brought up iOS 16 to us.If you want to
bypass the developer account and try it first, the easiest way is to and
install the beta profile, then you will receive the notification of the iOS 16 betaupdate.
However, some users found they could not install the update. The reason is that during the update process,a large number of temporary files are created in order to
be able to roll back if something goes wrong. After the installation, those temporary files are deleted. So you must set aside enough space to make sure iOS 16 can run properly.Today’s tutorial will show you how to first free up some space before ios 16 updating. let’s dive in!

Method 1:Restart iPhone
When you check out your device storage in settings, you may notice that the storagemay be divided into several parts like Apps, photos, or media. And one thing
you may also notice is called system data. The core and temporary systemfiles are
stored here. So when you restart your iPhone, the device will remove these elements like temporary files, and activity logs. For iPhone X or later, volume up, then press and quickly release the volume down, then press and hold the side button until you see theApple logo appears.

Method 2:Offload Unused Apps
The second thing to do is to identify what is taking up the most space on your iPhone.Sometimes they are apps, so you can also check out the Apps that you
seldom use.You can choose to offload the APP which frees up the storage used by
the app but keeps its documents and data. Or you can just delete it completely. It depends on you.

Method 3:Turn On iCloud on your Device    If you store your photos, apps, and other things on your iPhone instead of iCloud,
itwill consume your local disk. So we’d better go to Settings, iCloud. Turnon iCloud
for every important stuff like photos, contacts, messages, etc. Otherwise, to
avoidfull-resolution images taking up a lot of storage space, we can select the
optimizediPhone storage option in Photos. so that full-resolution files can be replaced by smaller device-sized versions. Also, If you don’t have enough space on iCloud either, you can go to Backups, and delete the ones you don’t need anymore.

Method 4:Clear Safari Caches
If you use safari very often, you may leave amounts of history and cache files in  the browser. To deal with it is also very easy, go to safariin settings. And scroll down  to find and click the clearhistory and website data. It will delete all the safari history and caches soon.

Method 5:Purge(Recently Deleted Photos)
Besides safari, some users may forget to permanentlydelete the photos. Let’s go to
photos and check out folders your recently deleted. Look, there are a lot of photos here you didn’t completely delete. Because Apple will keep them for another 30 days after you delete them the first time. Just delete them now.

Method 6:Reset all Settings
Finally, a more effective way to reduce storageis to go to General and select
Transfer or Reset iPhone. And then reset all settings. But this means you will lose all
your data. So, before you start, you can transfer your files and back them up to a
computer using iTunes. The drawback is that you can‘t decide where to put your
iTunes backup when it comes up very big. So I truly recommend you to use iCareFone to back up your data. First, connect your phone to pc. Open iCareFone and choose the manage button. In this page, you can transfer photos, Audio, contacts, etc. Then go to the photo, and choose some of them you want to transfer.
You can export them to any location on a computer like this.
